The seedlings arrived with roots slightly damaged in transit, but their leaves were green and larger than expected. Sunny answered all my questions and handled all the export paperwork. Everything went smoothly, even though Mexico has very strict phytosanitary rules.

Questions we are asked

How does the orchid arrive?

Bare-rooted, without pot or soil, hand-packed in a damp medium. This is how orchids have always travelled — a pot full of substrate would pass neither customs nor the journey. Leaves arrive firm; roots are sometimes slightly damaged in transit and recover within a few weeks once the plant is settled.

Is it legal to import an orchid from Thailand?

Yes, provided the paperwork follows. All orchids are listed in CITES Appendix II: every shipment leaves with a CITES export permit and a phytosanitary certificate issued by the Thai authorities. We handle that documentation for each order — it is precisely what customers mention most often in their reviews.

Will I receive an orchid in bloom?

It depends on the plant. Every listing states clearly whether it is a seedling or a mature plant. A seedling needs several seasons before its first bloom; a mature plant is of flowering size but usually travels without flowers — a flower spike does not survive shipping. Flower photographs show the bloom at maturity.

What if the plant arrives damaged?

Write to us with photographs within three days of delivery. An orchid arriving with dry roots or a marked leaf almost always recovers, and we will guide you through it. If the plant is genuinely lost, we replace it or refund you. Our public reviews include parcels delayed by the postal service: we do not hide them, we deal with them.

How do I choose my first orchid?

Start with the light you have. Vanda and Rhynchostylis want a great deal of light and live bare-rooted, hanging; Cattleya and Dendrobium accept a pot and bright filtered light. Then choose between waiting and now: a seedling costs less and has to be earned, a mature plant flowers within the year.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

Yes. You have fourteen days from delivery to tell us, in line with European law. Because live plants are perishable, we ask you to write to us before returning anything: in most cases a solution is found without sending the plant back. Return shipping is at your expense.
