Scope

These terms govern the sale of live plants by INVESTME - FZCO to consumers. Placing an order means accepting them in full.

Applicable law, stated plainly

We are established in the United Arab Emirates. This takes no protection away from you: under Article 6 of Regulation (EU) No 593/2008 (Rome I), a consumer buying from a trader who directs its activity to their country keeps the benefit of the mandatory rules of their habitual residence.

In plain terms: if you live in the EU, EU consumer law protects you, whatever our registration.

The plants

We sell living plants. Every specimen is unique: size, number of growths, colouring and flowering stage vary between individuals and across seasons. Photographs show plants representative of the batch, not necessarily the one you will receive.

A plant may arrive without flowers: flowering depends on season and transport and is never guaranteed unless the listing says so explicitly.

Prices, taxes and import duties

Prices are shown in euros, excluding import taxes and duties.

Read this before ordering. We ship from Thailand. On entry into the European Union your parcel is subject to your country's VAT and, depending on its value, to customs duties. These are payable by you as recipient and importer, and collected by the carrier before delivery.

We do not collect these amounts and cannot refund them. Refusing to pay them results in the parcel being returned or destroyed, with no refund of the costs incurred.

Order and payment

Orders are placed on the site and completed on Shopify's secure payment page. The contract is formed when the order confirmation email is sent.

CITES and phytosanitary documents

All orchids are listed in CITES Appendix II. No plant may lawfully leave Thailand without a CITES export permit, nor enter the European Union without a phytosanitary certificate.

We obtain these documents for every shipment and they travel with the parcel. This is not optional: a plant shipped without them is seized and destroyed at the border.

Withdrawal

You have fourteen days from delivery to withdraw, in line with European consumer law. How it works, and what changes because the goods are alive, is set out on the returns page.

Conformity guarantee

Regardless of any commercial warranty, the seller remains liable for lack of conformity and hidden defects under the law applicable at your residence.

A plant arriving dead, crushed, or plainly not the species ordered is not conforming. Write to us: we replace or refund.

Complaints and mediation

Complaints come to us first, at info@getorchids.com.

Failing a solution, a consumer resident in the EU may contact their national European Consumer Centre, which handles cross-border disputes free of charge.

Note: the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform closed permanently on 20 July 2025.
